“Portray is a balancing act between reverse concepts –

direct statement and intuition, management and spontaneity,

even between the literal and the symbolic.

It appears to me that though a painter is deeply concerned

together with his personal non-public investigation,

his actual goal is to speak one thing

to the viewer that resonates on a uniquely private stage.”

Holding a sketchbook in hand has been the unifying theme all through Dan Beck’s life. A sketchbook was with him all through his travels cross-country after highschool, by his varied jobs earlier than becoming a member of the military and all through his 4 years within the infantry, two of which have been in Germany. Since then he has exhibited nationally, successful high awards and turning into a grasp signature member of the American Impressionist Society and a signature member of the Oil Painters of America. Beck’s panorama, figurative and nonetheless life work has been featured in a number of nationwide publications.
